The Hugo Wolf Quartett of Vienna will be on the TCU campus for four days, teaching master classes in chamber music and performing two free concerts that the public is invited to attend.

Those are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, and 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 in PepsiCo Recital Hall.

The group has been a fixture on the international chamber music scene for two decades, fascinating audiences around the globe. The Washington Post has labeled their music “bold and gripping,” while The Los Angeles Times called their unique style “urgent and impassioned, but with an absolute commitment to the ideal values of every note.”

Their choice of the name “Hugo Wolf” for the string quartet was purposeful since that Austrian composer (1860-1903) worked on the cusp between romanticism and modernism, with an inquisitive artistic mindset that remained open to past and future alike.
