The Schieffer School and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram have partnered to present Fort Worth Remembers JFK at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Ed Landreth Auditorium on the TCU campus. Bob Schieffer, moderator of CBS’ Face the Nation, CBS News’ chief Washington correspondent and TCU alumnus, will host a discussion with several journalists who covered JFK’s fateful visit to Fort Worth and Dallas in 1963 and actor Bill Paxton, who, as an 8-year-old, came with his family to hear the president speak at the Hotel Texas.

General admission tickets to the event are sold out; however, student tickets are still available at this writing, and must be reserved in advance. Students need to reserve a ticket at the Schieffer School. Students may request one ticket, and will need to present their valid student ID at the Will Call table for admittance. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Panelists include Hugh Aynesworth, author, journalist and historian, whose book November 22, 1963: Witness to History, goes on sale Sept. 3; Bill Paxton, former Fort Worth resident, actor and film director; Mike Cochran, former Fort Worth AP correspondent and reporter at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram; Gary DeLaune, former KLIF radio anchor; and Bob Huffaker, former KRLD radio announcer.

Copies of Aynesworth’s book will be available for purchase at the event. Aynesworth will sign copies of his book from 5-6 p.m. on Sept. 11 in the Ed Landreth Lobby.
