Dr. Jan Lacina to serve as editor-in-chief of prestigious journal

The TCU College of Education congratulates Dr. Jan Lacina on her recent appointment as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Research in Childhood Education (JRCE). She began her duties as editor in January 2012 and will hold the position through 2014, with an opportunity to stay on for an additional two years.


Dr. Lacina is the associate dean of the college’s graduate studies program and is an associate professor of literacy. She studies the teaching of reading and writing instruction and how mainstream and ESL teachers collaborate to meet the academic needs of English language learners (ELLs). Dr. Lacina is the author of more than 100 publications, including 3 books, refereed articles, book chapters, research reviews, and columns.


Information on the Journal


The Journal of Research in Childhood Education (JRCE), a publication of the Association for Childhood Education International, features articles that advance knowledge and theory of the education of children, infancy through early adolescence. This peer-reviewed journal features international research studies, and is distributed around the globe. The journal is published by Routledge (a Taylor & Francis imprint), one of the world’s leading publishers of scholarly journals in the arenas of social science, arts, and humanities disciplines. JRCE receives approximately 200 research article submissions per year to review, with a 14% acceptance rate.
