Construction has begun on two new residence halls that will be located at the corner of Bellaire Drive North and Stadium Drive. The halls are expected to open in Augsust 2013, with the plan of accommodating 400 sophomores and upperclassmen in suite-style units featuring modern kitchens and baths, wireless access, cable TV and energy-efficient systems. The buildings will be joined by an archway similar to the design of the one at the Brown-Luption University Union, creating a grand entry into the Worth Hills area of campus.

The new residence halls represent the first step in a plan to revamp Worth Hills, which calls for future construction of new fraternity and sorority housing, a dining facility and parking garage. The plan also places priority on maintaining ample green space and enhancing the Worth Hills Pond to be considered a campus landmark.

Under TCU's Academy of Tomorrow vision, TCU aims to increase the percentage of students living on campus. With the planned additions, Worth Hills would increase from about 780 beds to about 1,800, pushing the total campus bed count to more than 5,300.
