Students from TCU's student media received 37 awards during the annual Texas Intercollegiate Press Association convention this past weekend in Corpus Christi, including a best of show award for the TCU Daily Skiff and a first place overall excellence award for Image magazine.

Thirty-three of the awards were for items published or broadcast during 2011, the rest were from on-site contests. Students from the TCU Daily Skiff, TCU News Now, Image magazine, KTCU and TCU 360 received awards. The awards were announced in Corpus Christi.

In the individual award categories, alumna Andrea Drusch was tied for the editor of the year award and student Kerri Feczko received the reporter of the year award. The editor of the year and reporter of the year awards are given to the top student journalists working at the state’s student news organizations.

Students also placed in four of the on-site contests held during the conference. Ryan Osborne placed third in both print sports writing and print news writing; Emily Atteberry placed third in print feature writing; and Landon Haaf placed third in television sports writing.
