David Brooks is an Op-Ed columnist for The New York Times and a commentator on The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, and frequently is featured on CNN’s Late Edition and the Diane Rehm Show. Mr. Brooks previously was a senior editor at The Weekly Standard, a contributing editor at Newsweek and the Atlantic Monthly, and held several positions at The Wall Street Journal. He has contributed to The New Yorker, The Washington Post, Forbes and The New Republic, among others. Mr. Brooks is the author of two books, Bobos in Paradise: The New Upper Class and How They Got There and On Paradise Drive: How We Live Now (And Always Have) in the Future Tense.
Gwen Ifill, moderator and managing editor of Washington Week and senior correspondent for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, moderated the 2004 and 2008 vice presidential debates. She formerly was chief congressional and political correspondent for NBC News and is an occasional panelist on Meet The Press. Ms. Ifill has reported for The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other newspapers. The recipient of several broadcasting excellence awards and honorary doctorates, she serves on the boards of the Harvard University Institute of Politics, the Committee to Protect Journalists, the Newseum and the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism. She is the author of The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama.
Trish Regan is an anchor on CNBC's The Call, (weekdays 11 am - Noon EST). An Emmy nominated correspondent, Regan also reports for CNBC's documentary unit. In addition, she provides regular economic reports and analysis for NBC's Nightly News with Brian Williams and The Today Show. Regan recently reported an in-depth hour on the underground marijuana industry. Her program, Marijuana Inc: Inside America's Pot Boom, was the most watched special in CNBC's history. Regan joined CNBC from CBS News where she was a correspondent reporting for the CBS Evening News and The Early Show and contributed to 48 Hours and Face the Nation.
Mark Shields is a nationally known columnist and commentator with unmatched credentials as an analyst of the U.S. political system. He is best known for his work as moderator on CNN’s Capital Gang. As an editorial writer for the Washington Post, he began a column now distributed nationally by Creators Syndicate. Mr. Shields provides weekly political analysis and commentary for The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and is a regular panelist on Inside Washington. He has taught at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and Georgetown University’s graduate school of public policy, and was a fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy Institute of Politics. He is the author of the book On the Campaign Trail.
