Ashley Davidson receives student leadership scholarship

Ashley Davidson, an entrepreneurial management major in the Neeley School of Business at TCU, has been awarded the Mosebrook/Pfizer Student Leader Award, a $5,000 scholarship awarded annually to the Neeley undergraduate business student who exemplifies integrity, stewardship, responsibility, excellence and purpose.

Davidson has a 3.875 GPA and is a member of the BNSF Next Generation Leadership Program at the Neeley School of Business and the Chancellor’s Leadership Program. She is president of Alpha Phi Omega community service fraternity, financial vice president of Alpha Delta Phi national sorority, and director of community relations for Pan-Hellenic Council.

Davidson is also a member of the Order of Omega and is a Frog Camp facilitator. She has volunteered with the American Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House, Boys and Girls Club, Humane Society and American Diabetes Society. She is an ESL teacher for Somalia Bantu refugees and a facilitator for Multi-Culture Leadership.

In her winning essay, Davidson discussed how her term as president of Alpha Phi Omega community service fraternity allowed her to put her research of leadership skills and styles to work. “One of the most rewarding aspects of my position is the ability to empower others,” she said. “A student and/or community leader is not a title; it is a way of thinking and learning from the situations and people who surround you. Establishing leadership requires being self-aware, socially competent, and engaging in empathy between people and in teams.”

Stewart “Mick” Mosebrook, who spent more than half of his 63 years at Pfizer, was known as a decisive leader and a champion of workplace diversity. He died of cancer in July 2005.
