She has volunteered with the American Cancer Society, Ronald McDonald House, Boys and Girls Club, Humane Society and American Diabetes Society. In her winning essay, Davidson discussed how her term as president of Alpha Phi Omega community service fraternity allowed her to put her research of leadership skills and styles to work. “One of the most rewarding aspects of my position is the ability to empower others,” she said. “A student and/or community leader is not a title; it is a way of thinking and learning from the situations and people who surround you. Establishing leadership requires being self-aware, socially competent, and engaging in empathy between people and in teams.”
Stewart “Mick” Mosebrook, who spent more than half of his 63 years at Pfizer, was known as a decisive leader and a champion of workplace diversity. He died of cancer in July 2005.
