It’s no secret that the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex is home to a booming oil and gas industry. The Neeley School of Business at TCU is now taking applications for an advanced degree for energy professionals to advance their career in this thriving industry. Classes begin fall 2013. All courses take place in the evening so professionals can earn the TCU Energy MBA while working fulltime.
 
“Oil, gas, wind, electric—we are surrounded by energy opportunities in North Texas, which means thousands of professionals living and working in the area have degrees in engineering, geology, environmental science and other technical fields, and they want to advance their careers as the energy sector grows. The skills and knowledge that an MBA degree provides can help them do that, and this degree provides additional advanced knowledge specific to the energy industry,” said Dr. Bill Cron, associate director of graduate programs and research at the Neeley School. “What’s more, research suggests that 40 to 50 percent of senior managers in these energy industries are expected to retire in the next five to 10 years, leaving the door open for new leadership.”
 
The 48-hour TCU Energy MBA combines the integrated, managerial business perspective of a TCU MBA degree with specific practices and tools for the energy industry. Courses are offered in the evenings on the TCU campus. Courses are taught by renowned Neeley faculty and industry experts with extensive, top-level experience. The TCU Energy MBA includes a week-long international experience for first-hand knowledge of crucial international energy issues and access to senior execs at global energy companies.
 
“We created the TCU Energy MBA to give North Texas energy professionals – and those who want to enter the energy sector – an opportunity to advance their careers or start their own energy enterprise,” said Bill Wempe, executive director of graduate programs.  “This degree provides in-depth knowledge of current business issues and practices unique to the energy industry, and strategies for managing the risks and opportunities in this dynamic and growing field.”
