In the health care industry, nurses, doctors, anesthetists and more must work together to benefit their patients. Knowing how to communicate within the various specialties is crucial to improving patient outcome. Practicing that communication and skill set as a student is a tremendous opportunity.

Students from TCU and the UNT Health Science Center will join in a Code Simulation collaboration on Nov. 30 on the UNTHSC campus in Fort Worth. Approximately 20 seniors from TCU’s Harris School of Nursing & Health Sciences and 24 third-year medical students from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine will participate in a simulation exercise emphasizing communications and skills using the Health Science Center’s simulation labs and manikins. The simulation exercise will help the students practice interprofessional skills and competencies in a collaborative situation.
