Jewish Studies presents "The Holocaust is a Christian issue" March 26

The Program in Jewish Studies at Brite Divinity School and TCU has organized a free, public seminar and panel discussion for 7 p.m. Monday, March 26 in Robert Carr Chapel. Topic is "Why the Holocaust is a Christian Issue.Keynote speaker will be Dr. Clark M. Williamson, Indiana Professor of Christian Thought, emeritus, at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, IN. A "systemic theologian," he is focused on rethinking Christian theology after the Holocaust and has written several books and papers on the subject. He is a member of the committee on the Church and the Holocaust of the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC.
Other members of the panel include:
* Dr. Randall C. Bailey, the Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Hebrew Bible at Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, whose research is on the relationship of ancient Africa and the Hebrew Bible.
* Victoria Barnett, staff director of church relations at the U.S. Holocaust Museum, who has written and lectured extensively on the history of churches during the Holocaust.
* Namsoon Kang, associate professor of world Christianity and religions at Brite
* Dr. W. David Nelson, assistant professor and director of Jewish Studies at Brite.
