Fort Worth, TX February 6, 2012
The TCU Schieffer School of Journalism will host the Eighth Annual Schieffer Symposium on the News April 11 with a laser focus on the 2012 presidential campaign. With the chief White House correspondents representing three of the major television networks and the founder and editor-in-chief of POLITICO, the top journalistic minds of our time will bring Campaign 2012 to life. Bob Schieffer, moderator of CBS’ “Face the Nation,” CBS News’ Chief Washington Correspondent and TCU alumnus, will again host this year's Symposium.
Panelists include John Harris, founder and editor-in-chief of POLITICO; Norah O’Donnell, chief White House correspondent, CBS News; Jake Tapper, senior White House correspondent, ABC News; and Chuck Todd, chief White House correspondent and political director, NBC News and co-host of “The Daily Rundown,” MSNBC.
Schieffer said, “This presidential campaign has been filled with more surprises than any campaign I can recall, and who knows where things will stand in April? That’s why we’re bringing in four of the best reporters who are right in the middle of it. We’ve had some great panels over the years, but with this kind of campaign and the reporters we’ve assembled, this could be our best ever.”
The Eighth Annual Schieffer Symposium on the News will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, in Ed Landreth Auditorium on the TCU campus. Tickets are $20 and will go on sale in March. TCU students are admitted free with valid ID but must make a reservation.
