TCU News Now earns three Lone Star Emmy nominations

TCU News Now, the student-produced newscast in the Schieffer School of Journalism, has received three Lone Star EMMY nominations.
The newscast was nominated in the overall Newscast category, student Katie Love was nominated in the General Assignment category story for a piece on the implosion of Amon Carter Stadium and student Nathan Wall received a nomination for photography.
“This is more recognition for the excellent work our students are doing,” said Aaron Chimbel, assistant professor of professional practice in the Schieffer School and faculty adviser to TCU News Now.
As part of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Lone Star EMMY Chapter is the standard-bearer for excellence in the television broadcasting industry and the gatekeepers of the prestigious regional EMMY Awards in Texas. Lone Star EMMY represents the most experienced and talented television professionals from all disciplines of the industry and from all of Texas’ 19 television markets.
Reginald Hardwick, an adjunct faculty member in the Schieffer School who advises the TCU News Now on production, also received three Emmy nominations for his work as the morning executive producer for NBC DFW/KXAS-TV.
