Phone/email access restoration updates-UPDATED 2-8-11
Fort Worth, TX
2/6/2011
TCU staff have been working quickly to repair issues related to accessing email, phone and other servers as a result of a water line break in the Sid Richardson building on Thursday, February 3.While systems have been restored, TCU continues working to resolve the remaining issues. Until all issues are resolved, the campus community can expect the following:
- My.tcu.edu is working.
- Faculty/Staff email is working consistently if accessed from Web Outlook or via a mobile device. It may not be consistent if accessed otherwise.
- Student email is working consistently if accessed from Web outlook.
- Student wireless access is working in most areas of campus. Students may still access the Internet with use of an ethernet cable if they have previously registered for wired service. TCU is accepting new registrations for wired service.
- Phones are now accepting incoming calls and voicemail has been restored.
- Cable is still under repair.
- Large generators are being used to power the Sid Richardson building until the building's electrical can be repaired. Generators and other repair equipment are located on the south ramp leading into the Sid Richardson building, creating limited access. While the south ramp is still available, the north ramp may provide more access.
- All offices and classes in the Sid Richardson building are operating as usual.(Some faculty/staff who office in the affected area may have been notified by your supervisor about alternate work arrangements this week and should follow their supervisor's instructions.)
- All lecture halls in the Sid Richardson building are open for classes, though access from inside the building may be limited. Students may access the lecture halls from the outside.
- Computer labs in the Sid Richardson building are currently not available.
TCU will continue to update this page as needed.
