Elizabeth Gillaspy, assistant professor in TCU’s Department of Ballet and Modern Dance, has received the regional “2005 University Dance Educator of the Year” award for 2005, presented by the Southern District of the Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. The region, comprised of 13 states, will honor Prof. Gillaspy at its convention this week in Virginia Beach, VA. She is now one of six candidates for the national award, to be presented in April.

Prof. Gillaspy was first honored last fall on the state level by the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (TAHPERD), headquartered in Austin.
