TCU student named best in Army ROTC leadership course

A TCU student is the top cadet among the 493 Army ROTC students in his unit. They are training and testing Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington state to become Army lieutenants at the Leader Development and Assessment Course (LDAC).

 

Frank Giunta earned the honor of being the No. 1 cadet based on his performance during training this summer. Being recognized as the top performer in a regiment is a significant achievement and places Giunta among the top Army ROTC Cadets in the nation.

 

The 29-day course, also known as Operation Warrior Forge, is Army ROTC’s capstone training and assessment exercise. Cadets at Warrior Forge are tested on their physical stamina, endurance, ability to navigate over difficult terrain, and their team-building and leadership skills. An award was presented to Giunta at a regimental graduation ceremony July 29.

 

Thousands of college students from around the globe converge at JBLM each summer to attend the course.  Successful completion of this rigorous training is a prerequisite for becoming commissioned as a U.S. Army lieutenant.

 

This summer more than 6,300 Army ROTC Cadets will attend Warrior Forge.
