TCU’s Institute of Child Development will present the Texas Judicial Summit: Improving Outcomes for Children in Care on Monday, May 24–Wednesday, May 26 at Texas Christian University. This training conference is designed to improve the handling of child abuse and neglect cases through providing education in the fields of development, neurodevelopment and attachment in children.Nationally recognized speakers will focus on the impact of early trauma in children and teach strategies for making trauma-informed placement decisions. Such training enables judges, attorneys and child welfare professionals to better serve the children and families who rely on their decisions.
The conference is sponsored by The Texas Children’s Justice Act, a project that has grant funds available to support the training of child-protection professionals in an effort to improve the investigation, prosecution, and administrative and judicial handling of cases of child abuse and neglect.
