Fort Worth, TX

Student volunteers sold over 300 pairs of shoes in a TOMS shoe drive held on campus last week. The drive preceded a TCU visit from TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie, who served as keynote speaker at the Leadership Institute Dinner Jan. 29.TOMS gave the Leadership Center a promotional code that allowed students a $5 discount on any purchase throughout the week. Volunteers passed out coupons every day on campus and encouraged students to go online and buy a pair of TOMS.
Mycoskie made an appearance at the drive’s end-of-week celebration and announced that over 100 pairs had been sold. He visited with students at the event and thanked volunteers for their effort.
Mycoskie founded TOMS Shoes in 2006 under a charitable business model in which, for every pair purchased, TOMS gives a pair to a child in need. At the Institute Dinner, Mycoskie emphasized the importance of sustainability in business and encouraged students to become leaders in their own endeavors.
