Patterson named AP Coach of the Year

Associated Press has named TCU's Gary Patterson its 2009 College Football Coach of the Year. Patterson is the first AP Coach of the Year from outside the six conferences with automatic BCS bids.

It's the fifth national award for Patterson this season. He has also received National Coach of the Year honors from Sporting News and the Walter Camp Football Foundation in addition to being named the recipient of the George Munger Award and Woody Hayes Award.
