Ang Lee Film Festival to take place at TCU

TCU faculty, staff and students will gather for the Ang Lee Film Festival sponsored by the Asian Studies program, KinoMonda World Film Serieis, and the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (Houston).

The TCU community is invited to attend any of three on-campus events on October 14, 16 and 18 to explore the works of Academy Award-winning film director Ang Lee, best known for “Brokeback Mountain.” On Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m., festival attendees are invited to a tai chi demonstration followed by free Asian food and a screening of “Pushing Hands.” The second event on Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m. offers free food followed by a screening of the film “Wedding Banquet.” The final event on Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. will consist of a screening of the film “Eat Drink Man Woman,” followed by a cooking demonstration by Taiwanese chef Joe Chow and a reception with food. These events are free and open to the public.

Where: All events located in the BLUU ballroom on the TCU campus. Parking will be available at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center. (Directions: From I-30, exit University Drive and head south. Turn right on West Cantey, left on Stadium Drive. The building is on the right with parking immediately in front of the building.)
