Hispanic students awarded $45,000 in TCU MBA scholarships

Two outstanding members of the National Society of Hispanic MBA have been selected to receive scholarships from the Neeley School of Business at TCU for the 2009-10 school year. Both are students in the full-time TCU MBA program.

Natalie Ayala, entering the TCU MBA program this fall, was awarded a full-tuition scholarship, approximately $30,000 per year. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in management, Natalie worked at TTI Inc. as an account representative and team leader for the business development group, and later as account representative for the company’s Latin American sales branch.

Eva Graham, returning second-year TCU MBA student, was awarded a $15,000 annual scholarship. Eva holds a Bachelor of Music degree from West Texas A&M University. She has served as orchestra director for several schools since 1998, most recently at C.D. Fulkes Middle School in Round Rock, Texas.

Since 2004, the Neeley School has funded more than $255,000 in TCU MBA scholarships to local NSHMBA members in recognition of the long partnership between the school and the DFW NSHMBA Chapter.

“The goal of the scholarship is to bring highly qualified MBA students to the Neeley School,” said Peggy Conway, director of TCU’s MBA Admissions. “For our NSHMBA partners, the scholarships provide the added benefit of either recruiting a new member to the DFW chapter or recognizing a current member.”

“We are glad to have the resources that allow us to reach out to the community this way,” said Dr. Bill Cron, associate dean for graduate programs. “As an endowed private university, TCU is able to provide extensive scholarship and financial aid to students. We estimate that approximately 75% of full-time TCU MBA students will attend on scholarships or graduate assistantships for the 2009-10 academic year,” explained Dr. Cron.

In addition to scholarship resources, the TCU MBA program provides a nationally recognized faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and unique experiential learning opportunities that deliver the skills sought by corporate recruiters.

Similar MBA scholarships will be offered again for the 2010-11 academic year to NSHMBA members in the TCU MBA full-time program. Application for admission and all supporting documents should be submitted to the Neeley School by March 1, 2010. Scholarship forms are available at www.mba.tcu.edu.
