Karen Katz, president and CEO of Neiman Marcus, and executive vice president for The Neiman Marcus Group Inc., will be the featured speaker of the Tandy Executive Speaker Series April 16 at TCU. The Tandy Executive Speaker Series is offered to Metroplex business professionals by the Neeley School of Business at TCU to develop and disseminate leading-edge thought in order to improve the practice of business.Katz’s presentation will be Thursday, April 16, 7:30-9 a.m. in the new Brown Lupton University Union, 2901 Stadium Drive, on the TCU campus. As president and CEO of Neiman Marcus Stores, and executive vice president for The Neiman Marcus Group Inc., Katz oversees the strategic direction, merchandising, operations, creative services and expansion of the Neiman Marcus Stores, and leads strategy development and enterprise marketing for the corporation.
With an MBA from the University of Houston, Katz began her retail career with Foley’s and joined Neiman Marcus in 1985 as a merchandise manager. In 2000, Ms. Katz was appointed president and CEO of Neiman Marcus Direct, the company’s catalogue and e-commerce direct marketing business, including the Neiman Marcus and Horchow brands. She assumed her present position in December 2002, and was elevated to executive vice president, office of the chairman, The Neiman Marcus Group in 2007 with oversight of the company’s strategy, business development and marketing.
