Harris College roster of new administrators announced

The Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences recently announced the promotions of four individuals to key positions. The appointments begin with the new academic year, August 18, 2008.“I look forward to this new leadership as our college continues to grow in numbers, programs, and productivity,” said Dr. Paulette Burns, dean of the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences. “I welcome each to the administrative team.”
The new appointments include:
Debbie Rhea (kinesiology) has been appointed associate dean of Health Sciences and Research for the college. She is responsible for working with our Health Sciences academic units to ensure compliance with academic policies and to collaborate and assist with new program development. Her responsibilities for research extend across the college and include assisting units to achieve research and external funding goals, interfacing with the Office of Research and Sponsored Projects, and developing the college research infrastructure.
Susan Weeks (nursing) has been appointed assistant dean for external affairs for the college. She is responsible for monitoring contracts/affiliations across the college, assisting with college alumni development and programs, seeking opportunities for joint ventures, and promoting and enhancing international studies across the college.
Pam Frable (nursing) has been named associate dean and director of nursing. She is responsible for general oversight of all aspects of the nursing school.
Marinda Allender (nursing) has been appointed director of nursing undergraduate programs. She is responsible for managing nursing student issues and concerns, ensuring compliance with university and nursing academic policies, oversight of nursing’s simulation and practice laboratories, faculty assignments, and undergraduate nursing advisement and retention.
