RealWorld hires 13-year PR veteran
Fort Worth, TX
8/21/2007
Margaret Ritsch has joined the newly established, student-managed RealWorld Integrated Marketing Communications agency at Texas Christian University. Ritsch comes to TCU from the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, where she was director of public affairs. She holds a M.A. in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and brings nearly 15 years experience in public relations and marketing communications.
At RealWorld, Ritsch will be guiding students in their work involving writing and public relations for the agency’s numerous non-profit clients. Affiliated with the TCU Schieffer School of Journalism, RealWorld’s goal is to provide selected advanced students a real world experience while they are still in the academic world.
RealWorld IMC is among the few such student-operated agencies in the nation. It only accepts non-profit organizations as its clients, and while it charges fees, they are significantly lower than commercial agency fees, permitting non-profit groups to reach their target audiences more effectively, professionally and frequently. The student-staff consists of 12 advertising/public relations and graphics arts majors. Claudia Butts, the director, and Ritsch guide the agency’s operations.
