Dr. Andrew Schoolmaster named dean of AddRan College

Dr. F. Andrew Schoolmaster III has been named dean of AddRan College of Humanities & Social Sciences at TCU, effective in mid-July 2007. He has been serving as dean and professor of geography in the College of Arts and Sciences at Eastern Kentucky University since 2004.
Schoolmaster is no stranger to the North Texas area, having been a member of the geography faculty, and later an administrator, at the University of North Texas in Denton from 1980 until his move to Kentucky in 2004. At that time, he was associate dean for administrative affairs at UNT.
Educated at Kent State University in Ohio, Schoolmaster received a B.S. degree in history, and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in geography.
AddRan College at TCU includes the departments of economics, English, history, philosophy, political science, religion, sociology & criminal justice, modern languages and literatures, Spanish, aerospace and military studies, as well as the Center for Texas Studies and the Center for Civic Literacy.
