Author of "The Sonoma Diet" lectures at TCU on Feb. 5

Dr. Connie Guttersen, author of The New York Times best-selling book The Sonoma Diet, will be speaking on "Flavor is a Health Issue: Inspirations from The Sonoma Diet" at TCU as the Department of Nutritional Sciences Green Honors Chair on Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 from 7 - 8 p.m. The lecture and book signing, which are free and open to the public, will be held at the Sid Richardson Lecture Hall 1, located on W. Bowie Street. A reception will follow the lecture in the Living Room (Room 107) of the Annie Richardson Bass Building. Please RSVP by Feb. 2, 2007 to 817-257-7309.

Dr. Guttersen is a leading expert on the health benefits of diets inspired by Mediterranean, Latin American, and Asian cuisines. As a registered dietitian and nutrition instructor at the world-famous Culinary Institute of America-Greystone, Dr. Guttersen has spent her career focusing on the development of flavorful and nutritious approaches to healthy eating and weight reduction. Dr. Guttersen, who earned her B.S. in dietetics from TCU, returned to serve as an instructor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at TCU from 1991-1993. She has also been a guest lecturer at international food and dietary conferences around the globe.
