TCU accepts invitation to play in the Poinsettia Bowl

The TCU football team has accepted an invitation to play in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium. The Frogs will play Northern Illinois University on Tuesday, December 19 at 5 p.m. (PST).

"This invitation is a great compliment to our football program," TCU athletics director Danny Morrison said. "Congratulations go to Coach (Gary) Patterson, his staff and our players on another excellent year."

"We are excited to receive the invitation to play in the Poinsettia Bowl," TCU football coach Gary Patterson said. "We look forward to going to San Diego. This is a great destination trip for our fans and alumni."
