Nursing, in the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences, celebrated its 60th anniversary with a day-long event, "TCU Nursing: Connecting to the Past, Creating the Future" which was held Saturday, Oct. 21, in the Sid Richardson Building, Lecture Hall 1.

“Nursing has quite a legacy at TCU,” said Dr. Paulette Burns, dean of the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences. “We enjoyed renewing friendships, sharing accomplishments, and celebrating our past and our future.”

The day-long event began with a genetics workshop "Nursing Genomics 2006" presented by Dr. Dennis Cheek, TCU's Abell-Hanger Professor of Gerontological Nursing. Continuing education units were offered for the workshop. The campus part of the anniversary celebration also included lunch, simulation demonstrations, campus and building tours, and alumni group meetings. The anniversary celebration ended with a sit-down dinner at the historic Fort Worth Club.
