Brite Divinity School hosting Black Preaching Forum

Brite Divinity School at TCU will host the second annual “Preaching with Power: An Interdenominational Forum on Black Preaching” Oct. 15-17 at two city churches and on the TCU campus. The event is sponsored by Brite Divinity School’s Black Church Studies Program, under the direction of Dr. Stacey Floyd-Thomas.
The schedule:
- Sunday, Oct. 15, 7 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 2823 N. Houston Street — featuring the Rev. Stephen John Thurston, president of the National Baptist Convention of America Inc. (NBCA).
- Monday, Oct. 16, 7 p.m. at Carter Metropolitan CME Church, 4601 Wichita Street — featuring the Rev. Dr. Renita J. Weems, a former professor of Old Testament at Spelman College in Atlanta and Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
- Tuesday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m. at Robert Carr Chapel at TCU — featuring the Rev. Dr. Frank A. Thomas, senior pastor of Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church in Memphis, TN.
