TBT's Ben Stevenson appointed Distinguished Guest Artist in the College of Fine Arts

TCU today announced that Ben Stevenson, artistic director of Texas Ballet Theater, has been named 2006-2007 Distinguished Guest Artist at TCU, effective immediately.
According to Ellen Page Shelton, chair of the Department of Ballet & Modern Dance in the TCU College of Fine Arts, several activities are being planned. Part of Stevenson’s appointment will be teaching master classes for TCU dancers. He will be a featured speaker in DanceTCU’s “Community Conversations on Dance.” TBT will preview selected work at TCU for dance majors and invited guests.
Further, Texas Ballet Theater School’s Summer Intensive program and TCU’s Summer Dance Workshop will forge a cooperative effort with a three-week workshop May 29- June 15, 2007 (TBT), followed by a two-week workshop June 17-29, 2007 (TCU). The workshops will be held at TCU.
Ben Stevenson stated, “It is a great honor to be associated with Texas Christian University. I look forward to working with the talented faculty, instructors, staff and students at TCU.” “We are delighted to have Ben Stevenson, a world-class choreographer and artistic director, affiliated with our dance program,” said Scott Sullivan, dean of the TCU College of Fine Arts. “Our students, faculty and the entire university community will benefit immensely from his rich talent and experience.”
