Four-to-seven year-olds enrolled at TCU's KinderFrogs Schools have been invited to play baseball in University Little League's newly launched Challenger Division. They played in their first game on the league's Opening Day, Saturday, March 25.
KinderFrogs alum Marshall Howard, 7, had been playing for the University Little League for the past two years and his enthusiasm inspired the league to contact KinderFrogs School to begin a Challenger Division.
The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League Baseball to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges to enjoy the game of baseball. The Challenger Division utilizes "buddies" who assist the players on the field.
KinderFrogs School is TCU's laboratory pre-school for children with Down syndrome. For more information on KinderFrogs School, click here.
