Best-selling author, magazine contributor and radio/TV commentator on the role of religion in society Stephen Prothero will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 at TCU. He is guest speaker at the Daryl D. Schmidt Lectureship on Religion in Public Life, to be held in the Brown-Lupton University Union Ballroom, 2901 Stadium Drive.

Dr. Prothero is a professor of religion at Boston University and has written six books including American Jesus: How the Son of Go  Became a National Icon and God is Not One: The Eight Rival Religions That Run the World and Why Their Differences Matter. Prothero is a sought-after commentator on the role of religion in society,, appearing on The Colbert Report, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Oprah  Winfrey and  The Today Show.
