American political history expert Michael Birkner to speak at TCU Feb. 21

American political history expert Michael Birkner will speak at the department of history and geography Green Chair public lecture Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 5:30 p.m. in the Cox Room of Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitors Center on the TCU campus.

Birkner is the Benjamin Franklin Professor of Liberal Arts at Gettysburg College and the author of many books and articles on American political history. He has also written for the Concord, NH Monitor, and served as the paper’s chief editorial writer and Opinion Page editor. His lecture topic will be “The Hidden Hand Presidency Revisited: Did Dwight Eisenhower Bamboozle the Media and Mislead the Public about his Presidential Leadership?”

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
