TCU's award-winning Horned Frog marching band will temporarily relocate its practice to the lot surrounded by Highview Terrace, W. Cantey Street, Manchester Street, and Colonial Parkway beginning in August 2011.
Construction on the Amon G. Carter Stadium will impact the band’s ability to practice in its usual location this fall. After careful consideration of viable options for practice spaces, TCU determined the lot at W. Cantey Street and Manchester Street is the best solution. The band will move back to its original practice space behind the stadium by fall 2012 when stadium construction is complete.
Band practices will take place Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. (with the exception of the three Friday football games, when the band will not practice or create extra make-up practices). To accommodate the band’s needs as they practice during this fall semester, TCU will install supplemental lighting and equipment. Additionally, an intensive band camp will take place August 11-19 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to prepare for the upcoming season.
