Joe Lipscomb named Neeley Alumni Professor of the Year for 2011

Finance and Real Estate professor Joe Lipscomb has been chosen as Neeley Alumni Professor of the Year. Lipscomb came to TCU in 1977. He is director of the Luther King Capital Management Center for Financial Studies.

 

An expert in real estate valuation, Lipscomb holds a Ph.D. and MBA in Finance from the University of Houston.  He teaches Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Valuation, Real Estate Investments, Financial Management and Investments. He was president of the American Real Estate Society in 2001-2002, taught a course on European Monetary Union in Italy in 2003, and worked in Mexico investigating how to establish a secondary mortgage market.

 

“TCU is such a wonderful place to work and learn; I’m fortunate to be a part of it,” Lipscomb said. “When we on the faculty and staff do our jobs well, our students become loyal alumni.  In that regard, this award is recognition of a job done well by the entire Neeley faculty and staff.”

 

As Neeley Alumni Professor of the Year, Lipscomb will speak at Neeley alumni events around the country throughout the 2011-2012 school year.
 
Neeley alumni began the Alumni Professor of the Year award in 2006 to honor outstanding faculty. Previous recipients of the honor include Bob Vigeland, Bill Moncrief, Rob Rhodes, Chris Barry and Larry Lockwood.
