First "Shakespeare camp" for kids debuts in June

The 2011 Trinity Shakespeare Festival at TCU has announced its first “Camp Willy” Shakespeare Camp for youth and teens.
“Camp Willy” will be a two-week Shakespeare-focused day camp, Monday-Friday, June 13-17 and Monday-Friday, June 20-24, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at TCU Theatre facilities in Ed Landreth Hall on campus, 2800 S. University Drive, Fort Worth. Campers should bring their own lunch.
Camp Avon (ages 8-12)
Camp Bard (ages 13-18)
Each camp is limited to 15 students. Classes include Acting, Stage Movement, Improvisation, Voice and Text, Stage Combat and Shakespeare History, taught by members of the Trinity Shakespeare Festival Company including “Master Class Mondays” with special guest artists and instructors. Cost is $300 per person.
All campers receive a complimentary ticket for 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinee performances of Trinity Shakespeare Festival productions of AS YOU LIKE IT and MACBETH, Sunday, June 12 & Sunday, June 19. Campers may also purchase up to six additional tickets for these performances for only $10 each.
On the final day of “Camp Willy,” both groups will do an informal Shakespeare showcase performance open to parents and friends: Camp Avon Showcase, 3 p.m., Friday, June 24 and Camp Bard Showcase, 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 24.
