Water line break causes campus email and phone access issues

Due to the extended freezing temperatures, a water line in the Sid Richardson building broke. The line has been repaired and clean up efforts are ongoing, but, as a result of the break, TCU is experiencing difficulties with its servers.

Email, networks and the VPN servers are affected and are unavailable for a period of time. For computers on campus, wi-fi is not available, however hard-wire connections through an ethernet cable will still allow internet access. Wi-fi is exepted to be available again by Friday morning. Some buildings on campus are not able to access phone service. My.tcu.edu is available, but working very slowly.

TCU is working to resolve the issues and restore access to these servers as soon as possible. Faculty and staff email should be restored by Friday morning. Staff continues working on restoring student email.

Because of the inclement weather and server issues, TCU will be closed Friday, Feb. 4.
