TCU's Amon G. Carter Stadium west grandstand to be imploded Sunday, Dec. 5

TCU’s Amon G. Carter Stadium west grandstand was imploded on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010 around 8 a.m. On the day of the implosion, a restricted zone was established surrounding the stadium along the streets of Cantey Drive, Stadium Drive, and Bellaire Drive North. That morning, TCU closed the following streets:
• Bellaire Drive North from Bellaire Drive West to Stadium Drive
• Stadium Drive from Bellaire Drive North to West Cantey Street
• Cantey Street from Stadium Drive to the creek
This was done as an added precautionary measure and to control the flow of people and traffic. The Fort Worth Police Department and the TCU Campus Police assisted in the patrolling and clearing of streets.
