Last home game in TCU’s current Amon G. Carter Stadium on Nov. 13

TCU hosts its last home game in the existing Amon G. Carter Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at 3 p.m. The game against San Diego State will mark the last game to be played in the 80-year-old stadium as it is constructed now. After a $105 million renovation project, the stadium will re-open as the “Camden Yards” of collegiate football stadiums.

During the football game, past Lettermen, cheerleaders, Addys and SuperFrogs, managers and trainers will have the opportunity to join the Horned Frogs to create the tunnel for the football team as they take the field. A post-game ceremony will include a video of the stadium’s history and future and will conclude with a fireworks display.

The football game will feature special activities, giveaways and mementos to commemorate Amon G. Carter stadium. During the game, an Amon G. Carter Stadium Historical Guide will be available, free to the first 10,000 fans. Fans will also have the opportunity to buy the commemorative concession cups for $2, or $5 for the cup with a drink.

Free t-shirts will be available to students prior to the game and will be distributed Nov. 8 and 9th from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the BLUU lobby outside Market Square and in the Clark Brothers Statue mall area. T-shirts are also for sale at the TCU Bookstore for faculty/staff and the public.

Renovations to Amon G. Carter stadium will begin immediately following the Nov. 13 game and will conclude in time for the 2012 season. They will not interfere with home games during the 2011 season.
