TCU announces partnership with WBAP 820 AM-FM

TCU has announced a new five-year radio partnership with WBAP 820 AM and 96.7 FM, beginning in the 2010-11 athletics campaign.
“We are very excited about our new partnership with WBAP,” TCU athletics director Chris Del Conte said. “We will have a most unique opportunity to be one of the few universities in the country to have its games on both FM and AM simultaneously. WBAP is an institution in Fort Worth and a terrific fit for TCU.”
TCU will receive an enhanced national presence through WBAP being one of the more powerful stations in the country. The night-time signal reaches 38 states in addition to parts of Canada and Mexico. WBAP consistently ranks as one of the top-rated radio stations in the Metroplex.
This upcoming football season, the Horned Frogs will have all 12 games aired live in addition to one-hour pre-game and 30-minute post-game shows. In addition to the football partnership, WBAP will feature TCU men’s basketball in a Game of the Week showcase on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Founded by Amon G. Carter, WBAP was Fort Worth’s first radio station and is the heritage AM station for Fort Worth/Dallas. WBAP can be heard on a 50,000-watt AM and 100,000-watt FM station and is the home of the “Voice of the Frogs” Brian Estridge, who co-hosts with Hal Jay the No. 1 morning talk show in the Fort Worth/Dallas market.
