Harris College to host healthcare lecture at TCU April 21

Dr. Anne Wilson, a senior healthcare lecturer, will be on campus April 21 as Green Honors Chair for Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences. Dr. Wilson’s topic is on “Evidence Based Healthcare: How the Joanna Briggs Institute Can Support Your Practice.” The event, also a celebration of the affiliation of the Joanna Briggs Institute with TCU’s Center for Evidence Based Practice and Research (CEBPR), will take place from 10 a.m. to noon in the Brown-Lupton University Union ballroom, 2901 Stadium Drive. Dr. Wilson’s background includes hospital and community nursing, extensive experience in the areas of health services research, evaluation of advanced practice initiatives and investigations into chronic illness. Her published work includes book chapters, systematic reviews of evidence and articles in more than 30 refereed journals.
As a senior lecturer at the University of Adelaide in South Australia, Dr. Wilson has worked continually for the improvement of population health through research, teaching and supervision. Many of her recommendations have been implemented into practice and policy in the delivery of healthcare services.
The Joanna Briggs Institute is an international non-profit research organization for healthcare professionals and a global leader in evidence-based healthcare. Its new collaboration with TCU’s CEBPR will help both organizations extend their reach in evidence generation, synthesis, transfer and utilization. TCU is only the fourth university in the U.S. to be accepted as a collaboration center.
