Keome Rowe, TCU junior, wins Congressional Award

Keome Rowe, a junior at Texas Christian University and current Washington Center intern at government relations firm Chwat and Co. Alexandria, Virginia, was honored in the US Congress for receiving “The Congressional Award.” The award was established in 1979 to “recognize initiative, achievement and service by young people. Keome Rowe received his award by Rep.Sam Johnson(R-TX). Attendees at the presentation included House Energy and Commerce Chairman, Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) and Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming Chairman, Rep.Ed Markey (D-MA) Mr. Rowe, a political science major and a “Chancellor’s Scholar” (top scholarship award at TCU), said in his remarks that the Award, “challenges our youth to be engaged, passionate, viable members of society. One day I might even run for Congress!”
The Washington Center is a DC based internship program drawing from over 300 Universities and colleges from around the country and has been placing interns since 1971.
