Opera legend Marilyn Horne to coach TCU voice students, public invited to observe

Legendary mezzo soprano Marilyn Horne has accepted an invitation to visit the TCU School of Music to teach a series of master classes March 31 to April 2. Twelve TCU voice students, selected by juried audition, will have a
30-minute private lesson and will sing in a closing public recital.
The public is invited to observe the teaching sessions at no cost, although seating is limited. Also included in the week’s events are a book signing of her autobiography Marilyn Horne, The Song Continues (priced at $39.95) and reception and dinner, priced at $50 per ticket for dinner and $500 per ticket for the private reception with Miss Horne preceding dinner.

Although now retired from performing opera after four decades onstage around the world, Marilyn Horne maintains an active schedule of teaching residencies at universities and music academies throughout the world. Her Marilyn Horne Foundation which began in 1994 has introduced more than 30,000 aspiring young artists to the art of vocal recital and classical song through education programs across the country and full recital appearances.
