32nd annual TCU Jazz Festival will be March 27-28

Jazz tuba and baritone saxophone great Howard Johnson, a fixture on the Manhattan club and recording scene since the 1960s (director of the original Saturday Night Live band), is the star attraction at this year’s TCU Jazz Festival March 27-28. He performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 27 in the intimate setting of TCU’s PepsiCo Recital Hall. The TCU Faculty Jazz Combo is also on the Friday program. Tickets are $10 at the door.
All day Saturday (March 28) is devoted to classes and workshops with 28 top high school and middle school jazz ensembles.
This is the 32nd year for the annual Jazz Festival which has a rich history of bringing in the greats in the field to perform alongside the University's own talented jazz ensembles. Tuba virtuoso Howard Johnson will also be part of the weekend event ... helping train aspiring young musicians during the Saturday session and blowing audiences out of their seats at the awards concert that night. He will perform with the TCU Jazz Ensembles, led by Curt Wilson, Joey Carter and Micah Bell, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28 in Ed Landreth Auditorium. Tickets are $10 at the door.

7:30 p.m., PepsiCo Recital Hall -Tuba virtuoso Howard Johnson,
with the TCU Faculty Jazz Combo, $10 admission at the door.
Saturday, March 28
9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Ed Landreth Auditorium, PepsiCo Recital Hall - 28 area high
school and middle school jazz ensembles, Free.
7:30 p.m., Ed Landreth Auditorium - Awards concert with TCU Jazz Ensembles
and guest artist Howard Johnson, directed by Curt Wilson, Joey Carter and Micah Bell,
