Through a program called Project Purple, TCU plans to give away 4,000 tickets to the Poinsettia Bowl, in which it will play today at 5 p.m. (PST) in San Diego, CA.
The targeted recipients include youth and military families in the San Diego area. In addition to the ticket, TCU will provide those attendees with a meal and a TCU t-shirt to wear at the game.
Project Purple is a program through which the TCU athletic department receives donations to purchase tickets for underprivileged and deserving individuals who might not otherwise be able to attend a game.
Currently ranked no. 11, TCU will play ninth-ranked Boise State in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl in Qualcomm Stadium, which will be broadcast on ESPN.
