The Neeley School of Business at TCU awarded scholarships to Tony Del Muro, Eva Graham and Amber Cancel, current MBA students who are members of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. Neeley initiated the scholarship program in 2004 in recognition of the long partnership between the school and the DFW Chapter of NSHMBA. Since then, Neeley has funded more than $210,000 in scholarships to local NSHMBA members who are students at the school.

TCU is among NSHMBA’s prestigious colleges in the University Partnership Program, an ongoing initiative between NSHMBA and universities where business schools such as Neeley team with NSHMBA to expand the financial assistance provided to Hispanic students.
  • Tony del Muro, a second-year full-time Neeley MBA student, was awarded a $20,000 annual scholarship. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and previously worked as a structural engineer with Carter & Burgess.
  • Eva Graham, who begins the MBA program this fall at Neeley, was awarded a $15,000 annual scholarship. Eva holds a Bachelor of Music degree from West Texas A&M University, and has served as orchestra director for several schools since 1998, most recently at C.D. Fulkes Middle School in Round Rock, Texas.
  • Amber Cancel, a student in the Neeley School’s 12-month full-time Accelerated MBA Program, was awarded $20,000. She holds a BBA in finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio and serves as the owner/broker for Ventura Capital Mortgage.

“We are proud to have resources that allow us to reach out to the community to attract quality students,” said Dr. Bill Cron, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs. “Last year, about 90 percent of our full-time MBA students attended on scholarship or graduate assistantships.”

NSHMBA CEO Lourdes Hassler agrees that by strengthening partnerships, universities such as TCU help NSHMBA reach its objective of assisting Hispanics in their educational endeavors.

“Partnerships such as ours with TCU help NSHMBA fulfill our mission of increasing the Hispanic graduate rate,” Hassler said. “TCU’s support at the scholarship level, and also at the local level through its Professional Development effort, plays a vital role in reinforcing the much needed pipeline of Hispanic talent. We have universities such as TCU, and people like Peggy Conway, to thank for their commitment.”
