PianoTexas at TCU opens with a schedule change: Olga Kern recital moved to June 18

Fort Worth, TX
5/23/2008
Note: The recital by 2001 Cliburn gold medalist Olga Kern has been re-scheduled. She will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18. The recital by Harold Martina, previously announced for that date, will now be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 28. See revised schedule below:
PianoTexas International Academy & Festival will unfold on the TCU campus June 5-29, featuring performances by piano talents both young and old as aspiring young professionals, longtime music teachers and avid amateurs immerse themselves in the world of piano. It's an event not to be missed by anyone who loves and appreciates fine music, especially since daily recitals by non-professionals are free and all events are open to the public.
The unique event for piano lovers was founded in 1981 as the TCU/Cliburn Piano Institute by TCU School of Music professor Tamás Ungár who remains its director.
An international lineup of guest artists make up this year's faculty and most will be featured in public piano performances in PepsiCo Recital Hall, as well as master classes which the public can observe. Phone 817-257-7456 or visit the Web site at www.pianotexas.org for a complete schedule of events, details on the music to be performed by each guest artist and online ticket sales. Individual tickets will be available at the door a half-hour prior to each event.
