Coming off the heels of capturing the Varsity Equestrian Western National Championship, the TCU equestrian team has been honored by the Fort Worth City Council, as well as the Texas House of Representatives.

The Horned Frogs attended Tuesday's weekly Fort Worth City Council meeting, where team members of the team were introduced to Mayor Mike Moncrief, as well as other Council members. Attending from TCU were: Emma Carl, Kindel Huffman, Kelsey Huffman, Ashton Mickunas, Jennifer Neel, and Head Coach Gary Reynolds.

Wednesday the Frogs received resolutions passed by the Texas House of Representatives, acknowledging the achievement by the team last month. The resolution was signed by Texas State Representative for Fort Worth, Dan Barrett.

By winning the Varsity Equestrian Western National Championship, the Frogs became the fastest team to earn the title in Varsity Equestrian's 10-year history, by competing for just the second season. The championship was also the first team national championship at TCU in the last 25 years, with women's golf accomplishing the feat in 1983.
