TCU campus and local community celebrate the grand opening of the new TCU Barnes and Noble Bookstore

The new 34,000-square-foot, two-story TCU Barnes & Noble bookstore opened this week and TCU will celebrate with themed events Jan. 28-Feb. 1.

Monday, January 28, 2008
Students are encouraged to visit the bookstore on this day. With a TCU ID, students can enter in raffles for an X Box and X Box games, gift certificates, and more. There will also be free T-shirts and other giveaways as students enjoy the music of the TCU Steel Drum Band from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.

TCU alumni are invited to attend a reception at the bookstore from 6-9 p.m. Alumni and parents will receive a 15 percent discount during this time, along with refreshments and tours of the building every 30 minutes.

Wednesday, January 30, 2008
Fort Worth and TCU VIPs will celebrate with an invitation-only reception featuring food and music by TCU musicians.

Thursday, January 31, 2008
TCU neighbors are invited to a day-long celebration featuring a special event in the late afternoon and children's hours throughout the day.

Friday, February 1, 2008
Faculty and staff are encouraged to visit the bookstore for samples from the café, to listen to a faculty jazz quartet and to enter in hourly drawings between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Faculty and staff will also receive an additional five percent discount that day with a TCU ID.

The bookstore is now open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. The café is open 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.
